A transparent method, shown in full. Here is exactly how we set the price on every sealed box.
Most shops ask you to trust their number. We would rather show our work. The Fair-Price Index is the method we use to price sealed One Piece TCG, and this page documents it end to end. Read it, then judge our prices against the real market yourself.
What the index is
The Fair-Price Index is a daily read of what the market actually pays for a sealed product. On every listing we show three numbers together: the official MSRP, the current market median across our EU and Swiss panel, and our live price. You never have to leave the page to know whether a price is fair.
How we build it, step by step

Scan the market daily
Every day we collect the current price of each sealed product across a panel of independent stores in the EU and Switzerland. Depending on the set, that panel runs from roughly 20 stores for a scarce or pre-order title up to about 350 for a widely stocked current set.

Clean the panel
We remove business-to-business and wholesale listings, which do not reflect what a single buyer pays. We also drop clear outliers: mispriced items, empty listings, and prices far outside the cluster. What is left is the real retail picture.

Take the median, not the average
We use the median, the middle price across the panel. The median resists a handful of very high or very low listings, so one strange price cannot drag the anchor. An average would let a single EUR 55 or EUR 400 listing distort the whole figure.

Anchor our price to the market
We set our price against that market median, not against the single lowest listing. Near the median is fair. We would rather be honestly fair than pretend to a floor that is often a mispriced item or already sold out.

Refresh every day
The market moves, so the figure moves. We recompute the panel median daily. The number you see is current, and it is dated so you know when it was measured.
The three numbers on every product
MSRP
The publisher's suggested price. About USD 119.99 for an English booster box, near EUR 95 to 110 with exchange and VAT. The floor of reality.
Market median
The middle price across our cleaned EU and Swiss panel, refreshed daily. The honest anchor for "fair".
Our price
Our live price, shown next to the other two so you can see exactly where we sit against both.
We also show the panel size next to the market figure. A median built from 124 stores is a stronger signal than one built from 21. Showing the count lets you weigh the data yourself instead of taking a single number on faith.
Why the median and not the cheapest
The lowest listing is the number every price comparison tool chases, and it is the least reliable one. Across our panel the floor is regularly a pre-order deposit, a mislabelled listing, or a box that is already out of stock. On old, thin markets like OP-01 Romance Dawn the floor is almost pure noise, which is why we anchor those sets to the median and treat the floor as unreliable. Chasing the cheapest number optimises for a price that often is not real. Anchoring to the median optimises for a price you can actually pay today.
Being honest about what this is
The Fair-Price Index is a transparency tool. It is not a promise that we are always the cheapest, and we will not claim to be. Some days a marketplace seller will list below our price. That is fine. We would rather show you the whole market and let you decide than hide behind a "lowest price" badge that only holds until the next refresh.
What we do promise: the three numbers are real, the market figure is measured daily from many stores, and we show the panel size so you can judge the strength of the data. That is the whole method, with nothing hidden.
Where the data comes from
The panel is drawn from independent One Piece TCG retailers across the EU and Switzerland. The figures on this site are computed from our own market scan, not resold from a third party. - Does the Fair-Price Index mean your price is always the lowest?
- No. We anchor to the market median, not the floor. The single lowest listing is often a mispriced item, a pre-order deposit, or already out of stock. Our aim is a price that is fair against the real market, shown transparently, not a race to a floor that may not be real.
- How often does the figure update?
- Daily. We recompute the panel median every day and date the figure so you know when it was measured.
